Are you new a resident or intern starting at OHSU? Welcome aboard!
As you may be aware, as house officers at this university you are represented by our union, AFSCME Local 4820. A group of your coresidents founded the union a few years back to address issues faced by residents and interns at OHSU. We’re excited to have a union here and are looking forward to sharing some information with you about it as you navigate the onboarding process.
To help incoming interns and residents learn more about your union, we’d like to invite you to join a short meeting. We’ll walk you through a few highlights of our contract and what it means to be a union member, and answer any questions you have.
For your convenience, we’ll be meeting twice. Our first meeting on June 13th at 10am will be hosted by Psychiatry Resident and HOU Recording Secretary Aly Dubrovsky, along with our AFSCME representative Damon Di Cicco. Our second meeting on June 15th at noon will feature Internal Medicine Resident and HOU Executive Board Member Emma DeLoughery and Damon Di Cicco.
Existing members who would like to meet newly arrived co-residents or get a refresher on the contract are also welcome.
We hope you can join us!
